Delhi: VHP and Bajrang Dal hold massive protest outside Bangladesh High Commission over brutal lynching of Hindu man by Muslim mob in Bhaluka

A massive protest broke out outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on Tuesday (23rd December), following the killing of a Hindu man, Dipu Chandra Das, in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh district last week.

The protest was led by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, with demonstrators raising concerns over attacks on Hindus and damage to Hindu religious places in Bangladesh.

As the crowd grew larger, the situation became tense, and protestors clashed with the police. A large crowd pushed against security arrangements and broke through at least two layers of barricades placed outside the Bangladesh High Commission. Protestors were seen chanting slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, “Yunus Sarkar Hosh Me Aao”, and “Hindu Hatya Band Karo”, while demanding strict action from Bangladeshi authorities and safety for minorities.

Several people at the protest held banners and placards demanding justice for Dipu Das. Some protestors also burnt statues of Bangladesh’s interim chief, Muhammad Yunus. One protester said that if people remain silent today, more lives like Dipu’s could be lost.

Another protester said that while India is the land of Ram and Krishna and does not believe in violence, Hindus are facing serious threats across the border.

Police teams stepped in to control the situation and began detaining protestors to clear the area. Barricades were put back in place to prevent the crowd from moving further. Security forces had already been on alert ahead of the protest, and tight security arrangements were made around the building.

The entire area was secured with three layers of barricading, and personnel from the police and paramilitary forces were deployed in large numbers to manage the crowd and ensure that the situation did not get out of control.
