Barranquilla in Colombia has been named as the slowest city in the world in terms of traffic in the TomTom Traffic Index that covers 500 cities in 62 countries. However, the 2nd and 3rd spots in the Index have been claimed by Indian cities. While Kolkata ranks 2nd, India’s Silicon Valley Bengaluru ranks 3rd.
As per the Index, it takes 36 minutes and six seconds to travel 10 KMs in Barranquilla, while it takes 34 minutes and 33 seconds to do the same in Kolkata. Meanwhile, it takes 30 minutes and 10 seconds to travel 10 KMs in Bengaluru. These are all of course average times, and can vary during the day.
Meanwhile, another Indian City Pune has captured the 4th spot in these rankings.
