Case of dismembered body of girl found in train in Lucknow solved: Bigan Ansari killed his daughter because she loved a Hindu boy, his 2 elder daughters had married Hindus

In a shocking breakthrough, the mysterious case of a girl’s severed body found packed in a metal box inside a train at Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar railway station has been solved. The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Shabba, a resident of Jaypur Tola in Pipraghat Mustakil village under Sevarhi police station in Kushinagar district. It has been revealed that her father himself killed her because she was talking to a Hindu youth.

The father, Bigan Ansari, an e-rickshaw driver, has confessed to killing his daughter with the help of his sister Noorjahan and brother-in-law Moizbullah Ansari. The trio allegedly chopped the body into six pieces, dumped the head in a village pond and placed the remaining parts in a box which they loaded onto the Chhapra-Gomti Nagar Express at Tamkuhi Road station.

The gruesome discovery was made on the morning of 17 May when cleaning staff at Gomti Nagar station noticed a suspicious box and bag in Coach S-1 of Train No. 15114. The staff informed the authorities, who then informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF). Upon opening the locked box, railway police found the torso of a young girl wrapped in a sack, with her hands and feet packed separately using plastic sheets. The head was missing.

Initial investigations by GRP had found that the box was loaded at Tamkuhi Road station the previous evening. Now, new revelations from joint probing by Kushinagar police, Sevarhi police, GRP and RPF have now established the full horror. According to police, Bigan Ansari was furious over the love marriages of his two elder daughters, Khushboo (24) and Nargis (20), both of whom had married Hindu men against his wishes. One daughter had eloped while the other reportedly went missing.

When he suspected that his youngest daughter Shabba was also in a relationship with a Hindu boy, he allegedly beat her severely. Biggan had asked her to stay away from him, but Shabba remained in contact with the young man. This angered Biggan, who felt he was being insulted, and feared that she will also marry the Hindu man.

The girl had even attempted suicide by hanging a few days earlier. Enraged and determined to “save family honour”, Bigan conspired to kill her, and he involved his sister and brother-in-law in the crime.

On the evening of 16 May, after sending his wife and two young sons (aged 9 and 6) to a relative’s house, the three accused murdered Shabba inside their home. They chopped her body into six pieces with a sharp weapon. The head was cut into smaller pieces and thrown into a pond in Sirgaon village to prevent identification. The torso and limbs were wrapped in old clothes and plastic sheets and packed into the box. The trio had bought a new box and a sickle for the crime.

The accused then travelled by e-rickshaw to Tamkuhi Road railway station and placed the box in Coach S-1 of the Chhapra-Gomti Nagar Express. They then got off the train through a different coach. When he returned home, his mother asked him about Shabba, and he told her that his daughter had gone to her mother’s house.

Scanning CCTV footage from nearly 800 cameras along the route, police teams zeroed in on the trio from Jaypur Tola. All three were arrested in Kushinagar on Wednesday. During sustained interrogation, Bigan Ansari confessed to the crime and led police to the pond where divers recovered parts of the head and the alleged murder weapon.

Kushinagar police confirmed the arrests of Bigan Ansari, his sister Noorjahan and brother-in-law Moizbullah Ansari, stating that a case has been registered at GRP Charbagh, Lucknow, under relevant sections, and further legal action is underway. The accused have been booked for murder, destruction of evidence and other charges.

Police sources added that Bigan had lived abroad for several years before returning around five years ago. Rumours in the village now suggest he may have been involved in the disappearance of his eldest daughter as well, though this angle is yet to be officially probed.
