“Only BJP-led NDA can stop infiltration and protect demography in Assam”: UP CM Yogi Adityanath at Barpeta rally

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday, 3rd April, said that only the BJP-led NDA can protect Assam from infiltration and stop any changes in the state’s demography. Addressing election rallies in Barpeta and Barchalla, he said the NDA government stands for both “Virasat-Vikash” and has a strong record of delivering on its promises.

Speaking at a rally in Barpeta, where he campaigned for Asom Gana Parishad candidate Dipak Kumar Das, Yogi Adityanath lashed out against the Congress for its decades-long rule in the state.  “The Congress had been in power for 60 years in Assam. But it only encouraged infiltration, violence and riots. It put the local culture and heritage under threat,” he said.

UP CM Yogi also talked about the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), accusing it of supporting infiltrators. He accused the party of being pro-infiltrator and went further to say that it is working hand in hand with the Congress in compromising the culture and heritage of the state.

He assured voters that if the NDA returns to power, strict action will be taken against illegal infiltration. “Each infiltrator will be identified and driven out. BJP-led NDA will not allow love jihad and land jihad and any change in the demography,” he said.

Highlighting NDA’s governance and development

The UP Chief Minister said Assam has seen major development in the past decade under the NDA rule. He urged people to continue supporting the alliance. “Assam has witnessed a massive transformation in the last 10 years, and I urge your sustained support for the NDA in this election,” he said.

He also gave the example of Uttar Pradesh to highlight the BJP’s governance model. “No one can read namaz on the roads. No one can shout out from any place of worship in Uttar Pradesh anymore,” he claimed, adding that there have been no riots or curfews in the state in the last nine years.

Adityanath said that the construction of the Ram temple is another example of the BJP fulfilling its promises.

Focus on welfare and infrastructure

At another rally in Barchalla in Sonitpur district, where he campaigned for BJP candidate Ritubaran Sarma, Adityanath spoke about welfare schemes and development work under the NDA. He said earlier that benefits meant for the poor were taken away by infiltrators, but things have now changed.

“Earlier, rations meant for the poor were eaten up by the infiltrators. But now, people are getting free food grains, LPG cylinders and electricity, health insurance and jobs. All these have been possible due to the ‘double engine’ government of PM Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma,” he said.

He also highlighted improvements in connectivity, saying roads, railways, air travel and inland waterways have all seen major expansion in recent years.
