Pakistan-linked terror conspiracy busted: NIA files final report against 5 juveniles in Ghaziabad espionage case; 21 arrested for passing sensitive information

On 18th May (Monday), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) submitted a final Investigation Report against 5 juveniles in Conflict with the Law (JCLS) in a case involving a Pakistan-linked terror conspiracy to spy on key areas, including security and police installations alongside railway stations with the goal of compromising India’s safety and security.

The report has been submitted with the Juvenile Justice Board in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, under the pertinent provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Official Secrets Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

“A total of 21 accused has so far been arrested in the Ghaziabad espionage case, originally registered by the local police in March 2026 for installation of solar-powered cameras at sensitive sites of railway stations and providing live access from these cameras to suspected terrorists in Pakistan,” the official release read.

NIA stated that it took over the inquiry and revealed that these minors had colluded with other co-accused to help suspected Pakistani terrorists obtain images and videos of critical places and their exact GPS coordinates with the purpose of jeopardising the nation’s security, integrity, unity and sovereignty.

The anti-terror agency informed, “The JCLs had illegally trespassed into, approached and accessed prohibited/sensitive areas of vital importance, NIA investigations further revealed. They had provided active support in installing spy cameras, and transmitting sensitive information, including photographs and videos with geo-tagging, to suspected Pakistan-based terrorists.”

Moreover, the minors also helped terrorists affiliated with the Islamic Republic acquire and utilise Indian SIM cards to carry out terror acts on Indian territory. The probe against the remaining arrested accused and additional suspects is underway.
