Delhi’s Patiala House Court sent the co-conspirator, Jasir Bilal Wani, in the Red Fort blast case on Tuesday (18th November) to a 10-day judicial custody. Wani , who was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday (17th November, is said to be a close aide of Red Fort bomber Dr Umar un Nabi.

Jasir Bilal Wani provided technical support to the terror module
According to the NIA, Wani, a resident of Qazigund in the Anantnag district of Jammu & Kashmir, played an active role in the conspiracy. Wani, a political science graduate, enhanced the capabilities of the terror module. He modified drones by equipping them with higher-capacity batteries and cameras. He was also trying to attach explosive payloads to drones and to build miniature rockets. Investigators believe that the terror module was planning to execute Hamas-style coordinated attacks using unmanned aerial devices.
Wani refused to be suicide bomber
It was revealed during the investigation that Wani first met Nabi at a mosque in Kulgam in October 2024. Subsequently, over a period of several months, Nabi deeply indoctrinated Wani and tried to convince him to carry out a suicide bombing. However, despite Nabi’s tireless efforts to convince him to become a suicide bomber, Wani refused to participate as a suicide bomber. Wani withdrew in April 2025, explaining to Nabi that he was going through some financial difficulty and that taking one’s own life was forbidden in Islam. As per the NIA, Wani’s withdrawal as a suicide bomber was the reason that he was shifted to the technical support of the terror module.
Wani’s arrest comes after the NIA arrested Rashid Ali, a resident of Pampore in South Kashmir. Ali is the owner of the i20 car used by Nabi to carry out the explosion near the Red Fort on 10th November. The NIA has secured a 10-day judicial custody of Ali, who is expected to be sent to Kashmir for further interrogation. The agency said that Ali is a co-conspirator of Nabi and had come to Delhi to help in purchasing the car, which was used in the blast. After the deadly car blast left 15 people dead and several others injured, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches at the office of Al-Falah University, its trustees, and related persons/entities in Delhi’s Okhla area on Tuesday. Nabi, who was driving the i20 that exploded near the Red Fort, was an assistant professor in the general medicine department of the University.
The Jaish-e-Mohammad-linked terror module was busted by the investigating agencies before the Red Fort blast. Multiple individuals, including many Kashmiri Muslim doctors, were arrested in connection with the module. Around 2900 kg of explosive, along with a huge cache of arms and ammunition, was seized by the agency during the investigation of the terror module.
