Anti-social elements defaced an ancient temple situated close to a cemetery in Alwar, Rajasthan. A Shivling was vandalised and numerous other idols were damaged. Furthermore, a dead calf was also discarded near the temple, triggering tensions in the area.
According to reports, the neck of a Nandi idol was discovered broken a few days prior. Afterwards, the trunk of a Lord Ganesha statue was found to be damaged. Initially, it was speculated that monkeys might have been responsible. However, the Shivling was later found to be completely destroyed with a stone. A broken stone was also located near it, prompting suspicions that the act was deliberate.
A decased calf was also discovered near the temple after which local residents arrived at the scene and started to protest, demanding strict action against the culprits. Subsequently, the police reached at the location and pacified the crowd by assuring them that the accused will not be spared.
