Wanted Jihadi Jaheer Ali nabbed in Assam, STF operation against Bangladeshi terror organisation ABT continues

The Special Task Force formed by the Assam Police has Jaheer Ali, a dreaded criminal with terrorist connections who has been absconding for a long time. Ali was finally nabbed in the Bilasipara of Dhubri District under the STF’s Operation Praghat, launched to track down anti-national elements.

As per reports, the Assam Police have nabbed 21 dreaded criminals since the launch of Operation Praghat. ISIS’ India head Harish Farooqui alias Harish Ajmal Farooqui was also arrested by the Assam Police STF under this mission. Farooqui and his associate Anurag Singh, both wanted by the NIA in the Delhi terror module case, were tracked down and arrested by Assam Police.

Pratidin reported that Jaheer Ali’s arrest is linked to the Assam PS Case number 21/2024, under which 12 criminals and anti-national elements working with terrorists have already been arrested. The arrested individuals, including Jaheer Ali, were reportedly working under Farhan Israk, a close associate of Jasimuddin Rahmani, the chief of the banned terrorist organisation Ansaruallh Bangla Team.

Jaheer Ali and others in the case had reportedly conspired to facilitate the illegal entry of an ABT terrorist named Shab Sheikh, with the intention of propagating terrorist ideologies and recruiting more radicals for ABT.
