The Delhi High Court has dismissed the News Portal NewsClick plea challenging the orders dated November 3 and February 20 passed by the Income Tax Department and said it has not been able to make out a prima facie case in its favour.

According to the local reports, around eight Income tax official teams have been deployed to conduct raids at the six locations linked to Deshpande in Pune. The IT officials are investigating financial transactions and tax evasion of these companies.
Sources said the above exercise, conducted by the tax authorities, is called "survey", not search or raid as per the provisions of the Income Tax Act. Such surveys are routinely conducted and are not to be confused to be in the nature of a search/raid, said sources.
