Faridabad’s Al-Falah University is currently being investigated by security agencies after its connection to the Delhi blast case came to light. A former nursing staff member at the university’s medical college and hospital revealed that every day, about 100 to 150 fake patient files were created there.
This illegal activity was ordered by Dr Mujammil Shakeel, who is linked to a terrorist group, and Dr Umar Nabi, who later carried out a suicide bombing. Staff members who refused to follow these orders were marked absent, and their salaries were cut.
The former employee also said that Hindu staff faced discrimination at the university. Kashmiri medical workers and some doctors working night shifts often praised Pakistan openly and even shouted pro-Pakistan slogans.
Sources say that Dr Shaheen Saeed used to go with Dr Mujammil to the NIT Market to buy explosives and suspicious items. Investigators are now closely looking into their movements, the items they purchased, and their contacts.
Laxman, a nursing staff member from Rajasthan, joined Al-Falah University in July 2025 and left in October. He shared that the fake files were mostly made during night shifts, and every staff member had to prepare five fake files daily. These files already had the doctors’ signatures on them.
These fake files included records of medicines that were never actually given to patients. Doctors would take these files with them every morning, but the staff were never told what these files were really for. The files were used to collect money fraudulently by pretending to treat poor patients.
If any staff refused to make these fake files, their salary was stopped, but this strict rule didn’t apply to Kashmiri staff. Muslim employees received 80 kilograms of free rations every month. There are about 200 nursing staff at the hospital and medical college, with around 80% being Muslim and 20% Hindu. Nearly 35% of the medical staff and doctors come from Kashmir.
The management was reported to discriminate against Hindu employees. Hindu staff were not given sweets on Diwali, while Muslim staff were given free rations during Ramadan.
Laxman added that Kashmiri medical staff and doctors working night shifts openly praised Pakistan and joked while shouting slogans like “Pakistan Zindabad.” There were often discussions about Kashmir and claims that the army was mistreating Kashmiris.
Parents demand a high-level committee
Parents of students at Al-Falah University have written to several officials, including the central health and education ministers, Haryana’s chief minister, and others, demanding the formation of a high-level committee. They aim to ensure the safety of students and to allow their studies to continue without any interruption during the ongoing investigation.
Since Al-Falah University’s name came up in connection with terror activities, students have been viewed with suspicion and discrimination. This has caused them fear and has made it difficult for them to focus on their studies or even sleep properly.
More than 360 parents, mainly from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Delhi, and the NCR region, have come together to raise concerns about their children’s future.
Delhi Metro Station blast
The blast in Delhi took place on the evening of 10 November near Gate Number 1 of the Red Fort metro station. Around 15 people were killed, and more than 20 were injured when a powerful explosion went off inside a white Hyundai i20 car. The government confirmed it was a terrorist attack connected to Al-Falah University.
The suicide bomber, Dr Umar Nabi, worked as an assistant professor at the university and carried out the explosion using ammonium nitrate. Security agencies have arrested Dr Mujammil Shakeel, a surgeon, and Dr Shaheen Saeed, a pharmacologist. Their links connect them to terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. The investigation of this terror module, involving educated professionals, is still underway.
