Love Jihad in Delhi: Faheem poses as ‘Sahil’ to entrap a Hindu woman, FIR against six members of Muslim family over rape, captivity and forced conversion

A 23-year-old Hindu woman has filed an FIR at Delhi’s Jamia Nagar Police Station, against six members of a Muslim family for kidnapping, captivity, gang rape, blackmail and forcing her to convert her religion to Islam. The complaint was registered on 14th May, 2026, against Faheem, a resident of Meerut, along with his parents, two brothers and others connected to the case.

Friendship on Instagram turned into a nightmare

According to the woman, she received a friend request on Instagram in November 2021 from Faheem, who introduced himself with the Hindu identity as Sahil. Their friendship grew over the next few months, and in March 2022, he called her to Batla House in Delhi.

She said Sahil convinced her to visit the flat of his friend Ali, where she was given juice that made her feel intoxicated. She stated that Sahil and Ali then raped her and recorded videos and captured some photographs. Later, she was threatened by showing the recordings and said that they would make it public if she refused to meet him whenever he called.

Sahil’s Muslim identity was revealed after being taken to Meerut

The woman said she was later called to Batla House again, where Sahil threatened her with a pistol and, along with another associate, took her to Sathla village in Meerut. There she discovered that Sahil’s real name was Faheem and that he belonged to a Muslim family.

She said Faheem and his father sexually assaulted her, while other family members prevented her from returning home. Under pressure, she was made to call her mother and say that she had willingly married Faheem through a court marriage, after which her family stopped searching for her.

Forced nikah and pressure to change religion

After one week, Faheem’s mother and sister reportedly took her to a madrasa in Agwanpur, where Faheem’s maternal uncle, cleric Hafiz Manzoor, conducted their Nikah. The woman said she repeatedly requested to be sent home but was ignored.

She further stated that the family pressured her to wear a burqa, eat beef and follow Islamic practices. She claimed they forced her to cook meat and even slaughtered a chicken in front of her, pouring its blood on her.

Claims of repeated abuse and exploitation

The survivor said that after the Nikah, another cleric frequently visited the house and sexually assaulted her. According to her, other men were later brought to her room as well. She said she eventually realised that her mother-in-law was forcing her into prostitution and accepting money from visitors.

The woman also claimed that there were other Hindu girls in the village who had been brought there in a similar manner. She said villagers knew about her situation but advised her to accept the family’s wishes.

Daughter born during captivity

Three months after arriving in the village, the woman became pregnant. She said she was pressured to continue the pregnancy and gave birth to a daughter in March 2023. The child is now three years old.

She also claimed that through village head Firoz, her Aadhaar records were altered and her father’s name was replaced with Faheem’s name.

Escape, suicide attempt and FIR

In November 2024, Faheem reportedly brought her and her daughter to Batla House after a dispute with his family. A few months later, he was jailed in a weapons smuggling case. The woman remained in Delhi and later returned to her parents’ home.

On 10th May 2026, she decided to end her life along with her daughter by jumping in front of a train. She said a stranger stopped her, counselled her and encouraged her to seek legal help. Four days later, she approached the police and filed the FIR.

Police action and investigation continue

Police have arrested five people, including Faheem, his father Khurshid, mother Tasleem, brother Zaid and a cleric. Another brother and Faheem’s sister are currently absconding.

The investigation is being led by Sub-Inspector Sharanya. Police said all aspects of the complaint are being examined. Meanwhile, some villagers also said that Faheem had a criminal background.
