Madhya Pradesh: Sisters Muskan and Rubiya Khan caught smuggling beef in Rewa; arrested after pelting stones at villagers

Two Muslim sisters were apprehended by villagers while engaged in beef smuggling in the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. They have been identified as Muskan Khan (23) and Rubiya Khan (20). The two realised that they were trapped and threw the bag containing cow meat into a canal. They also hurled stones at the villagers. The police arrived shortly after and arrested both individuals. The incident transpired on 28th June (Sunday).

The accused, who reside in Amirti village within the jurisdiction of the Govindgarh police station attempted to smuggle beef. The residents of Lohi village had long suspected the sisters of being involved in this business, prompting them to follow them that day in an effort to intercept them.

The duo, undeterred, continued their escape attempt on their scooty, which ultimately skidded. They discarded the bag of beef into a nearby canal out of fear of being caught. Moreover, they resorted to pelting stones when they found themselves surrounded by villagers. During this incident, Anand Singh Baghel, a farmer and activist affiliated with a Hindu organisation, incurred a significant head injury.

The villagers successfully trapped and nabbed the sisters, later handing them over to the authorities. With the help of the locals, the cops retrieved the beef from the canal and sent it for laboratory analysis. The police indicated that further action would be determined only after the report on the recovered meat was received.
