Haryana: STF and Delhi police kill 2 sharpshooters of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in encounter, accused had a bounty of ₹1 lakh on their head

Two sharpshooters associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were killed in an encounter with the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, on Saturday night, 4th July. Police identified the deceased as Parvesh and Himanshu, both of whom carried a reward of ₹1 lakh each and were wanted in connection with the murder of Hansi-based gym owner Kapil Redhu.

According to the police, the two men were the main accused in the killing of 25-year-old Kapil Redhu, who was shot dead outside his gym in Hansi on 10th June. Investigators said bike-borne assailants had fired more than 10 rounds at Redhu before fleeing the spot. During the investigation, Parvesh and Himanshu were identified as the key shooters.

Police said the Delhi Police Special Cell received specific intelligence that the two accused, who were carrying weapons, were planning to carry out another murder. Acting on the tip-off, teams from the Special Cell and the Haryana STF launched a joint operation to catch them.

“When the teams attempted to intercept the shooters, they opened fire. In self-defence, the police teams returned fire,” a senior police officer said.

During the exchange of fire, a Delhi Police constable suffered a bullet injury to his leg, while four other police personnel escaped with bullet impacts on their bulletproof jackets. The two accused were also injured in the encounter and were taken to a hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

Police said both Parvesh and Himanshu were wanted in cases related to murder, attempted murder and offences under the Arms Act.
