Mamata Kulkarni, a star of several hit films in the 1990s, including Karan Arjun and Sabse Bada Khiladi, has resigned as Mahamandaleshwar. Notably, Mamta Kulkarni was anointed as a Mahamandaleshwar during the ongoing Mahakumbh by the Kinnar Akhada.
After announcing her decision to step down as the Mahamandaleshwar, Mamta Kulkarni said that she will continue to be a ‘Sadhvi’.
Notably, there was a conflict between Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Laxmi Narayan Tripathi and the founder of Kinnar Akhada, Rishi Ajay Das, over anointing Mamta Kulkarni as the Mahamandaleshwar.
In the video announcing his decision, Kulkarni said, “I am resigning from the post of Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhada. I have been ‘sadhvi’ since my childhood and I will continue to be so.”
A popular Bollywood actress from the 1990s, Mamta Kulkarni returned to Mumbai last month after a long absence. After that, she was seen in the Mahakumbh in the attire of a Sadhvi.
