Another attempt by Congress to insult OBCs? Congress leader Ragini Nayak shares AI video of PM Modi selling tea, sparks a political row

A big controversy has erupted during the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament after a senior Congress leader shared a video on social media that showed Prime Minister Narendra Modi selling tea. This video was made using artificial intelligence (AI), and it quickly sparked a lot of anger and debate.

Congress leader Ragini Nayak posted the video late last night on 2nd December. The clip shows the Prime Minister walking with a kettle and glasses at what looks like a global event.

Prime Minister Modi has often talked about his background, saying his father ran a tea stall at Vadnagar station in Gujarat, and that he helped his father when he was a child.

Before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, a senior Congress leader, Mani Shankar Aiyar, had mocked Modi’s simple background and said he would never become the Prime Minister. But Modi went on to win big and is now serving his third term as Prime Minister.

Now, a decade later, Ragini Nayak’s post has upset many and led to a strong reaction from the BJP. BJP leader CR Kesavan said that the post shows the disrespectful attitude of the Congress leadership. He called the post a serious insult to the hardworking people of India and said it was an attack on the OBC community.

Kesavan also said that Congress and Rahul Gandhi dislike the fact that Prime Minister Modi, who comes from a humble background, has been chosen again and again by the people because of his hard work, unlike Rahul Gandhi, who has been rejected by voters many times.

According to Kesavan, this is not the first time Congress has attacked Modi or even his late mother, and he warned that the people of India will punish Congress for their behaviour.

Another BJP spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawalla, reacted on social media, saying that the “Naamdar” Congress cannot accept a “Kamdar” Prime Minister from the OBC community who rose from a poor background. He reminded people that Congress had often mocked Modi’s “chaiwala” background and abused him many times, even attacking his mother, and said people will not forgive this.

This controversy comes as the Winter Session begins, a session expected to be quite tense. The government has many laws to discuss, but the Opposition is planning to press the government on important issues like the Special Intensive Revision of voter lists in several states. The row over the video is likely to add more heat to the ongoing political debates.
