Counting for the Delhi Assembly Elections is ongoing and the trends suggest, Bharatiya Janta Party is set to storm to a victory and Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party is headed for a loss. Following the trends, Anna Hazare, who was the ‘Guru’ of Kejriwal during their campaign against corruption during Congress rule, has commented on the results.
Anna Hazare said, “I have been saying it for long that while contesting the election, the candidate must have a character, good ideas, and no dent on image but they didn’t understand. They got tangled in liquor and money, his (Arvind Kejriwal) image was dented because of it and that is why they are getting fewer votes.”
Anna Hazare further said, ” People saw that (Kejriwal) talks about character but gets involved in liquor. In Politics, allegations are made. One has to prove he is not guilty. The truth will remain truth.”
Notably, relations between Anna Hazare and his protege Arvind Kejriwal soured when Kejriwal decided to enter active politics. Anna Hazare was always against it and the duo haven’t reportedly spoken for years now.
