The NIA court in Lucknow has sentenced all 28 convicts in the 2018 Chandan Gupta murder case to life imprisonment. Yesterday on January 2, the NIA court held the 28 accused guilty.

All the 28 convicts in this case are Muslims. Their names are Salim, Wasim and Naseem sons of Barkatullah alias Barki and Zahid alias Jagga, Asif Qureshi alias Hitler, Aslam Qureshi, Asim Qureshi, Nasiruddin, Akram, Tauq, Khillan, Shabab Rahat, Mohammad Nawab Mohsin, Asif Gym Wala, Saqib, Bablu, Nishu, Wasif and others.

In 2018, Chandan Gupta was brutally killed by a Muslim mob when he was participating in a Tiranga Yatra. The Muslim mob had objected to the Tiranga Yatra and had attacked the participants, raising anti-India slogans. The scuffle had turned into a full-blown mob violence. Chandan’s brother Vivek had somehow managed to save himself and rushed to seek help. A badly injured Chandan was rescued with the help of the police and taken to the hospital. But he was declared ‘brought dead’. The details of the incident can be read here.
