Delhi: Couple Azad and Rubina brutally stab retired RBI employee Madho Ram to death at his residence, arrested

On 20th April, Delhi Police arrested a couple, identified as Azad and Rubina, for murdering 63-year-old retired Reserve Bank of India (RBI) employee, Madho Ram. According to media reports, the deceased was stabbed to death at his central Delhi residence on the evening of 18th April.

According to the police, a PCR call was made at Mandir Marg police station at around 5:36 pm. Following the call, Station House officer and local police staff rushed to the deceased’s house. The victim was found dead on the first floor. He had sustained multiple stab injuries.

He was rushed to Lady Hardinge Medical College, where he was declared dead on arrival. Media reports suggest that Madho Ram served as a Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) employee at the RBI. He is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters.

Mandir Marg police registered a case under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation. Based on the forensic examination of the crime scene and analysis of CCTV footage from the area, police verified suspicious persons and activated local intelligence and informer networks.

Two accused, Azad alias Jaaju and his wife Rubina, were apprehended based on the evidence. In a statement, police stated that during interrogation, Azad allegedly confessed to the murder. The motive behind the murder is yet to be established. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
