Gujarat: Wife’s complaint unravels ‘suicide’ cover-up, parents arrested after autopsy reveals 23-year-old son was murdered

A shocking case has come to light from Gujarat’s Rajkot district, where a 23-year-old man’s death, which was first believed to be a case of suicide, has now been found to be a murder. Police have arrested the victim’s parents after the post-mortem report revealed that the young man did not die by suicide.

The case came to light after the victim’s wife, Banshiben Bambhava, who had married him only four months ago, filed a complaint against her in-laws. Acting on her complaint and the medical findings, Gondal police registered a murder case and arrested the victim’s father, Babubhai alias Atulbhai Ghughabhai Bambhava, and mother, Manishaben alias Motiben.

The death was reported as a suicide

The incident took place on 30th June in Gundala village of Gondal taluka in Gujarat’s Rajkot district. The victim, Ram Babubhai Bambhava, was initially reported to have died by suicide. However, a detailed post-mortem examination later showed that his death was caused by poisoning and strangulation, exposing the real nature of the crime.

Fight over drinking habits

During the investigation, police found that Ram had a serious drinking problem, which often led to arguments with his parents. On the day of the incident, another heated fight broke out over his alcohol addiction. According to the investigation, his mother forced him to drink acid, while his father attacked him before strangling him to death.

Police investigation exposed the truth

Police said that after Ram’s death, his father tried to make the case look like suicide. He reportedly contacted several local political leaders and used his influence to push for a post-mortem panel at Gondal Civil Hospital so that no suspicion would arise.

Despite the attempt to present the death as suicide, the detailed autopsy and police investigation uncovered the truth. Investigators concluded that Ram had been poisoned and strangled, confirming it was a planned murder rather than suicide.

Ram was the eldest among four siblings, and his father ran a tea stall in the village. Police are continuing their investigation to gather more evidence and complete the case.
