A viral video showing a woman biker being hit by a car on Gurgaon’s Golf Course Road has triggered widespread outrage, with the rider, who identifies herself as Sia, now preparing to take legal action against the accused.
Sia said she would file an FIR with the assistance of her lawyer by Monday evening and pursue the matter through legal channels. In an Instagram story, she thanked people for their support and acknowledged that efforts were underway to identify the person allegedly involved in the incident.

However, despite receiving interview requests from news organisations and journalists, Sia made it clear that she would not be speaking to the media.
“I do not wish to reveal my identity or face, and I won’t be giving any interviews this time,” she said, urging people to respect her decision.
Sia added that she would continue sharing updates through Instagram and asked those seeking further information to contact her there.
What happened on Golf Course Road?
Sia had earlier uploaded footage recorded on an action camera mounted on her motorcycle, stating that a car repeatedly followed her while she was riding with a group of bikers on Sunday.
According to her account, the occupants of the vehicle appeared to be intoxicated. She alleged that the driver asked her to stop even after she told him to maintain a safe distance.
Feeling unsafe, Sia said she chose to continue riding instead of stopping.
The footage shared by her show the car coming into contact with her motorcycle. The impact knocked her off the bike, while the motorcycle was dragged for several metres before the car sped away.
Sia further said that one of her friends pursued the vehicle and confronted its driver at a traffic signal. According to her, the driver denied responsibility before driving away.
Vehicle owner says friend had borrowed car
Meanwhile, the registered owner of the car, identified as Manish, has acknowledged that the vehicle belonged to him but said it had been borrowed by his friend Kalyan Singh two days before the incident.
Manish reportedly said he was at work and only learnt about the incident on Monday morning. He added that Singh did not respond when he attempted to contact him after learning about the allegations.
The identity of the person who was driving the vehicle at the time of the alleged incident is now expected to be established through the police investigation.
Gurgaon Police takes suo motu cognisance
The viral footage has also prompted police action.
Gurgaon Police has taken suo motu cognisance of the video and said efforts were underway to identify the accused and arrest the person responsible at the earliest.
A case is being registered under relevant provisions at Sector 56 police station.
With the video drawing widespread attention online, the investigation is now expected to focus on identifying the driver, establishing the sequence of events and examining the available video and other evidence.
For Sia, however, the immediate focus remains on pursuing the matter legally while keeping her identity and face away from the media spotlight.
