Haryana: Cow smugglers use ambulance as cover to transport cattle in Nuh; one injured in police encounter, two on the run

On the morning of 19th May (Tuesday), the authorities confronted 3 cow smugglers who were transporting livestock in an ambulance in Nuh, Haryana. As a result, Hamas Khan was shot in the leg while the other two ran away from the spot during the encounter with cops.

According to reports, Sub-Inspector Mahendra Singh of the Police Crime Investigation Branch, obtained intelligence indicating that cattle smugglers were moving livestock in a vehicle. In response, a police team commenced a chase. When the smugglers approached the vicinity of Jaisinghpur village along the Nuh-Utavad road, the police cordoned off the area and attempted to intercept the vehicle.

However, the accused opened fire at the police. The cops retaliated and Khan sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. He was then taken to a medical college by the police. Meanwhile, a search is currently in progress with help from CCTV footage for the other two accused who escaped from there.

The police reported that a country-made firearm, three spent cartridges and 10 live rounds were recovered from the location. Furthermore, four cattle and an Eeco vehicle were confiscated.
