As PMO shifts to Seva Teerth, read about the major decisions taken by PM Modi from his new office

 On Friday (13th January), Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed various files related to women, youth, and farmers, from his new office complex, the Seva Teerth. PM has shifted his office from the British-era office in South Block of Lutyen’s Delhi to Seva Teerth.

On this occasion, PM Modi took major decisions. These include approving the launch of the PM RAHAT scheme, under which accident victims will receive cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh. This initiative is aimed at ensuring no life is lost due to a lack of immediate medical help.

The Prime Minister also doubled the target of Lakhpati Didis by March 2029, raising it from 3 crore to 6 crore, marking a major step towards women empowerment.

Besides, PM Modi has also doubled the outlay of the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore.

In a major boost to India’s innovation ecosystem, PM Modi approved the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crore.

Notably, the ‘Seva Teerth’ is a new building complex, which will house the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat. The development marks a significant overhaul in the administrative infrastructure of the country. Along with the Seva Teerth, PM Modi also inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2 and addressed a public programme at the complex.

The Prime Minister’s Office will now be reloacted rom South Block to the Seva Teertha complex on Dara Shikoh Road. PM Modi hailed the move as a step towards the modernisation of India’s governance infrastructure. The plaque of the Seva Teerth at the new building complex has the words ‘Seva Teerth’ and the motto ‘Nagrik Devo Bhava’ inscribed in Devanagari script. Notably, 13th February has a historic significance as about 95 years ago, on February 13, 1931, New Delhi was formally inaugurated as India’s modern capital.
