Pakistan foreign minister Ishaq Dar’s grandson arrested for abduction, rape and torture of two foreign nationals

In Pakistan, the Lahore Police have arrested Muhammad Raza Dar, the grandson of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and four other persons on charges of kidnapping, gang rape, and extortion of two foreign nationals.

The victims are a Dutch woman, Stephanie Adriana, and a Venezuelan woman, Astrid Robinson Bracho who had met Muhammad Raza Dar in October 2025 in Singapore. Dar reportedly invited them to Pakistan and even arranged for their visas. In June 2026, he planned their abduction.

According to the FIR filed on July 2, the women have revealed horrific details of their abduction, rape and torture at the hands of Dar and his accomplices. The victims were taken to an abandoned house in Lahore’s Defence area, stripped of valuables, subjected to repeated gang rape and brutal assaults by the suspects, and threatened with death or organ harvesting unless ransom was paid.

The victims were eventually rescued after they managed to alert their respective embassies.

It is notable here that the incident is expected to spark political controversy because Ishaq Dar is close to PM Shehbaz Sharif. Punjaab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered a strict probe.
