Pakistani man lies about being Indian after Chinese comedian stops him from hugging her, admits the truth when asked which Indian state he’s from

A Chinese stand-up comedian has gone viral after deftly exposing a man in the audience who first attempted to hug her during a live performance and then falsely claimed to be Indian.

A video circulating widely on social media shows the comedian interacting with the audience when a man unexpectedly reaches towards the stage, apparently trying to hug her. She immediately pushes his hand away, preventing the unsolicited advance.

Instead of letting the moment pass, she decides to question him. The comedian asks where he is from, to which the man replies, “India.”

With a smile, she follows up, “My boyfriend is also from India. Which state are you from?”

Caught off guard by the unexpected question, the man quickly abandons his claim and admits that he is actually from Pakistan.

The audience bursts into laughter as the exchange unfolds.

The comedian later uploaded the clip on social media with the caption, “Wait till the end,” hinting at the surprising twist in the conversation. The video soon went viral, prompting widespread discussion online.

Many social media users praised the comedian’s quick thinking, noting that her seemingly casual question about the man’s home state exposed his false claim within seconds.

Others expressed surprise over the man’s initial attempt to approach and hug the performer during the show, calling the behaviour inappropriate regardless of nationality.

At the same time, several users cautioned against drawing sweeping conclusions from the incident, arguing that one individual’s actions should not be used to stereotype an entire nationality.

What began as an awkward moment during a comedy performance has since snowballed into a broader online debate over public conduct, identity, and why some people may choose to conceal their nationality while travelling abroad.
