Over a month after the Sambhal violence on November 24, 2024, where a Muslim mob had attacked police personnel during a court-ordered survey of the Jama Masjid, an absconding accused named Tillan alias Shahbaz has been arrested from Delhi. Tillan had reportedly fired bullets on Sambhal SP KK Bishnoi during the violence. The SP and his PRO were injured during the riot.
Tillan’s house was identified by laser technique by the FSL team from Agra that was studying the firing incidents during the violence. Police had traced Tillan’s latest locations to Delhi’s Jehangirpuri and Lakshminagar areas.
The Sambhal violence occurred at the areas surrounding the Jama Masjid and the Hindupurkheda locality of Nakhasa in Sambhal.
Police recovered a country pistol and ammunition from Tillan’s possession. Recently 2 more accused named Adnan and Rihar were arrested from Delhi’s Batla House.
Over 50 people have been arrested so far in the case. The police have released the photos and names of abscoding accused persons.
