Soldier Prabhakaran and his brother Prabhu had a minor argument with DMK councilor Chinnaswamy. The DMK councilor and his accomplices beat the soldier to death.

Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Head Seeman said, "If the 'Pen statue' is erected in the sea, I will break and destroy the statue.

The DMK minister supposedly became enraged when a party worker failed to arrange chairs on time for the event and hurled a stone at him. 

"If you (Governor) do not read out the speech given by the Tamil Nadu government, then go to Kashmir, and we will send terrorists so that they'll gun you down," Krishnamoorthy said.

DMK’s Shivaji Krishnamoorthy sparked a controversy with his remark against Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi.

"There is an old saying in villages, 'don't count the leaves (banana leaves used as plates for feast), if you are asked to pick it'...Governor's job is similar to picking up leaves," the DMK leader said.

While speaking at an event, Shivaji Krishnamoorthy said, “Don't I have the right to assault the Governor if he refuses to utter Ambedkar's name in his address to the Assembly? Go to Kashmir and we'll send terrorists so that they will gun you down there if you (governor) don't read the speech given by the Tamil Nadu government.”
