On August 5, the government of India repealed Article 370, that granted separate status to Jammu and Kashmir and subsequently legislated the bifurcation of state into two union territories.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration has appealed to the political leaders to not visit the valley as restrictions are still in place in some parts and their visit may increase inconvenience of people.
Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad when asked about the recent trip of NSA Ajit Doval to Shopian, Kashmir, he said, "You (Ajit Doval) can take anyone with you by paying money and take them."
Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said his party along with other 'secular' political parties will stand with the people of Jammu and Kashmir to protest against the historic decision of abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of state into two union territories.
