The Geological Survey of India revealed on February 9 that 5.9 million tonnes of estimated lithium resources had been discovered in the Salal-Haimana area of the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, marking the first time that lithium deposits had been discovered in India.
On the fourth anniversary of the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, ADGP Kashmir Zone confirmed that 19 terrorists were involved in the attack, out of which 15 have been put to justice
"Geological Survey of India for the first time established Lithium inferred resources (G3) of 5.9 million tonnes in the Salal-Haimana area of the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir," the Ministry of Mines said on Thursday.
The deceased family members have been identified as Majid Ahmad, his wife Shana Khatoon, their children Faizan Ansari, Abu Zar and an unnamed infant were declared dead upon examination.
While HD Deve Gowda of the JD(S) and Rajiv Ranjan 'Lalan' Singh of the JD(U) had written to Congress head Mallikarjun Kharge expressing their inability to attend the occasion, leaders of the Trinamool Congress, RJD, Samajwadi Party, and CPI(M) failed to attend too. Shiv Sena (Thackeray), NCP, TDP, BSP, RLSP, HAM, MDMK, and Kerala Congress also skipped the meeting.
Whipping up emotions against "outsiders" in Jammu & Kashmir, Rahul Gandhi said, "Earlier, locals of Jammu used to do business here. Locals of Jammu & Kashmir used to run Jammu & Kashmir. Today 'outsiders' are running it."
