The US negotiators are hoping to secure assurances from the Taliban that they will not attack the US Embassy in Kabul if the Taliban terrorists overrun the capital in the coming days.
The Indian consulate at Mazar-e-Sharif in Northern Afghanistan had hours ago issued a statement asking all Indian citizens to take the special plane that will leave for Delhi in the evening of August 10.
A massive blast occurred in Afghanistan's capital city of Kabul on Tuesday evening. The blast was reportedly a suicide attack carried out using a car bomb around 8 pm in downtown Kabul, close to the 'Green Zone' - one of the most secured regions in the city.
On Saturday, multiple blasts outside the Sayed-ul-Shuhada High School at a Shia Muslim dominated locality in Kabul had killed over 68 people and injured 150. Taliban had denied involvement in the blasts.
