Delhi: Serial killer Chanderkant Jha caught by Police after months-long manhunt

Chanderkant Jha, the dreaded serial killer, has finally been apprehended by Delhi Police. Jha operated in Delhi between 2006 and 2007 killing several people and terrorising the national capital. He has finally been caught after a long manhunt.

Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sain said, “Jha was on the run after jumping parole in October 2023. The 57-year-old was arrested from Old Delhi Railway Station on Friday following an intensive operation.”

Sain added, “Jha would tie his victims hands, claiming he would punish them, and then strangle them with a locally made nunchaku. He would dismember the bodies meticulously, ensuring minimal blood splatter. The remains were then packed in plastic bags and transported using his modified cycle-rickshaw before being dumped at pre-determined locations, often near Tihar Jail.”

Jha was carrying a Rs 50,000 bounty on his head and was sentenced to a life sentence for three murders.
