Rajasthan: BJP govt cracks down on illegal immigrants, detains 500 Bangladeshis and Rohingyas

On Monday (27th January), the BJP government cracked down on Rohingyas and Bangladeshi nationals who have been illegally staying in Jaipur city of Rajasthan.

According to reports, the Jaipur police have detained 500 illegal immigrants. While 394 of them are Rohingyas, the remaining 106 are Bangladeshis.

The development was confirmed by Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph. He informed that a large-scale operation was carried out to identify criminals and illegal immigrants.

“Jaipur Police has launched a campaign to apprehend active criminals across all police station areas under the Commissionerate,” he stated. The detained Rohingyas and Bangladeshis will be interrogated.

Earlier in October 2024, the authorities nabbed 12 Bangladeshis who were illegally staying in Jaipur.
