On Saturday, November 8, PM Modi flagged off four new Vande Bharat trains. PM Modi had arrived at the Banaras Railway Station for the flagging off ceremony. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were also present at the event.

The new trains will operate in the key routes of The trains will serve key routes of
- Banaras-Khajuraho (connecting spiritual hubs in Northern and Central India)
- Lucknow-Saharanpur (enhancing connectivity in UP)
- Firozpur Cantt-Delhi (linking Punjab to the national capital)
- Ernakulam-Bengaluru (Connecting Kerala’s cities with Bengaluru’s business hubs)
Hailing the decision to start a new Vande Bharat train between Ernakulam in Kerala to Bengaluru in Karnataka, former minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar stated, “Grateful to the Central Government for approving the Vande Bharat train service from Ernakulam to Bengaluru via Thrissur and Palakkad. Bengaluru employs a large number of Malayalis, especially in the IT sector. For a long time, there has been a strong demand for more train services from Kerala to Bengaluru.”
Each of these trains, fully manufactured in India, features advanced amenities like Wi-Fi, air-conditioned coaches, automatic doors, and the indigenous Kavach safety system, promising up to 15% faster journeys at 180 km/h. It is a step further in enhancing India’s rapidly growing semi-high-speed rail network.
Speaking at the event, PM Modi hailed these trains as another milestone for Aatmanirbhar Bharat, boosting connectivity and aiding economic growth in the regions. India now has more than 160 Vande Bharat trains operational across the country.
