The TMC MPs had held placards and raised slogans like ‘Bengal rejects Modi-Shah’s dirty politics’. TMC has claimed that the ED’s raid at IPAC is politically motivated and the BJP is using the probe agency to target them ahead of the assembly elections.
Mahua Moitra claimed that ED was sent to “steal strategic party information”.
In Kolkata, CM Mamata Banerjee has lodged a complaint against ED for “stealing TMC’s internal data” during the ED raid. The complaint has been turned into an FIR.
It is notable here that CM Mamata Banerjee had intervened during the ED’s raid at the IPAC office and IPAC chief Prateik Jain’s residence. In a statement, the Enforcement Directorate informed, “West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee entered Pratik Jain’s residence, took away key evidence, including physical documents, electronic devices.”
It further added, “Mamata Banerjee’s convoy then proceeded to the I-PAC office from where the CM, her aides, police forcibly removed documents, electronic devices. A person holding a constitutional post misused her authority to take away files.”
