Iran has firmly rejected the ceasefire proposal made by the United States, insisting it will end the ongoing war only on its own terms and at a time of its choosing. A senior Iranian political-security official told Press TV today that Tehran had received the US proposals through various diplomatic channels, including a friendly regional mediator, but had dismissed them as “excessive” and inconsistent with the situation on the battlefield.
The official described the overtures as a “deception” aimed at escalating tensions rather than achieving genuine peace, citing two previous similar instances in which the United States had pursued military action instead of meaningful negotiations.

According to a statement issued by the Iranian govt released via Iran’s Consulate General in Mumbai, Iran has informed all mediators acting in good faith that no further negotiations will take place until its conditions are fully accepted. The official emphasised that Iran’s defence would continue “until the following conditions are met”:
- The enemy’s aggression and acts of assassination come to an end.
- Objective conditions are established to ensure that the war will not recur.
- The payment of damages and war reparations is guaranteed and clearly determined.
- The end of the war is implemented across all fronts and for all resistance groups involved in this conflict throughout the region.
- Iran’s exercise of sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is recognised as its natural and legal right, and guarantees for the implementation of the other party’s commitments must be provided.
The statement stressed that these demands were separate from those Iran had already presented during the second round of negotiations in Geneva. It added: “Iran will end the war when it decides to do so – not when Trump intends it to end.”
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and continued military exchanges. Iran has signalled it is prepared to “inflict heavy blows on the enemy” if its core conditions are not addressed.
The insistence on formal recognition of sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil shipments, and reparations for damages marks a particularly uncompromising stance. The inclusion of a region-wide ceasefire covering all resistance groups further broadens the scope beyond any bilateral US-Iran arrangement.
