In a joint operation, Andhra Pradesh Police arrested a Muslim man, Zeeshan, on Tuesday, 24th March, from Jodhpur district of Rajasthan for his links to an ISIS-inspired online terror network. According to officials, they found several videos related to ISIS on his phone, which he had been sharing in online groups to influence and radicalise young people.

The arrest came after a recent similar case in Vijayawada, where police arrested a man for his links to ISIS. During questioning, police got information about Zeeshan, a 19-year-old from the Nai Sarak area of Jodhpur. Acting on the tip-off, a police team from Vijayawada reached Jodhpur and, with help from the local Sadar Bazar police, arrested him late on Tuesday night, 24th March.
Police said that Zeeshan had attempted to delete all the content on his phone to evade arrest. However, the experts were able to retrieve the deleted data. The recovered material reportedly included videos and chats connected to ISIS.
During the investigation, it was also found that Zeeshan was running a social media group called ‘BENX’. He was the admin of this group and regularly posted short videos and voice messages that promoted radical ideas. Police believe he was actively trying to connect with and influence other young people through this platform.
Officials said that before being given this role, Zeeshan was tested by his handler to check his loyalty. After that, he was made the admin of the group. He is believed to have been associated with this network for nearly two years, though he has not shared complete details during questioning so far.
Police are now looking into possible international links in this case. They suspect that some foreign-based extremist elements could also be involved. Investigators believe more people may be connected to this network, and a further probe is underway.
Zeeshan lives near Nai Sadak, close to Sojati Gate National Handloom in Jodhpur. Police also noted that the building where he lived had collapsed a few months ago.
