J&K police bust inter-state terror network of Lashkar-e-Taiba, arrest 5 including Pakistani terrorists Abu Hureira, Usman

On 7th April, Jammu and Kashmir police busted an inter-state Lashkar-e-Taiba terror network. Five persons, including Abdullah, also known as Abu Hureira, who has been on the run for 16 years, were taken into custody by Jammu and Kashmir police. Hureira was able to establish bases outside the union territory. Usman, also known as Khubaib, another terrorist from Pakistan, was apprehended during a significant operation involving both central agencies and Jammu and Kashmir police.

Investigators found incriminating evidence after raiding 19 locations, including those in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir. A well-established LeT network that supplied terrorists with financial and logistical support came to light throughout the investigation. The officials provided information, stating that three of the five people apprehended were residents of Srinagar. Adil Rashid Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Mir, also known as Mama, and Muhammad Naqeeb Bhat were held for giving the terrorists food and shelter.

According to the officials, the investigation showed that a foreign terrorist was able to leave the nation using identification and documents that were falsified with the cooperation of the Lashkar-e-Taiba network in other states. About 16 years ago, the terrorists entered India and continued to operate in several areas of Kashmir. They handled and managed roughly forty foreign terrorists over the years. The majority of these have been slain by security personnel. Meanwhile, local conduits from Rajasthan reportedly helped a wanted terrorist from Pakistan escape India.
