Investigations have revealed that Monalisa, who shot to fame during the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela and came under the spotlight for marrying a Muslim man, Farman Khan, is underage.
The revelation was made following a probe by the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST). It was led by Chairman Antar Singh Arya, who confirmed that she is a minor and belongs to the Pardhi tribal community.
Official hospital records from Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh reportedly show that she was born on 30th December 2009. It means she was just 16 years old at the time of the marriage.
It has also come to light that her marriage to Farman Khan was conducted based on a fake birth certificate in Kerala. The temple where the wedding ceremony was organised only relied upon their Aadhar cards.
Following the development, the Madhya Pradesh police lodged a First Information Report (FIR) under the BNS, SC/ ST Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The authorities have also directed the cancellation of the fake documents, which were registered at a local gram panchayat office in Kerala.
The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes issued summons to both Kerala and Madhya Pradesh DGPs and directed them to appear before it on 22nd April this year. It also sought detailed progress reports every 3 days in connection with the case.
