Rahul Gandhi hallucinates yet again, claims Modi government will topple within one year, BJP gives him a reality check

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stirred a political storm on Saturday (23rd May) when he spoke out his wishful thinking about the BJP government. Speaking during a meeting of the minority advisory committee of the Congress Party, Gandhi reportedly claimed that the BJP government at the centre will fall within a year due to growing economic discontent.

According to Aaj Tak, some party members proposed that the word ‘minority’ be used in place of Muslims, to which Rahul Gandhi disagreed and said that Muslims need not be afraid. Gandhi encouraged the party members to stand with any community facing injustice. He said that communities facing injustice must be referred to by their names, such as Hindus, Dalits, upper castes, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists or Jains.

The BJP reacted strongly to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, calling it an attempt to create ‘anarchy’ in the country. Condemning Gandhi’s remarks, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said that his statement indicates that he is plotting to topple the Modi government. “This statement clearly indicates that Rahul Gandhi is plotting to topple the government through anarchy. But the people of the country will never allow this conspiracy of his to succeed,” Patra said in a video message posted on X on Sunday (24th May).

Responding to Gandhi’s bold prediction, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that his statement points to a massive conspiracy by the “Tookit Gang”. “Rahul Gandhi’s statement points to a massive conspiracy involving the Congress party, along with various other Opposition parties, and the ‘Toolkit Gang’ who harbour dreams of destabilising India. This is no ordinary statement. It rather constitutes a grave conspiracy aimed at sowing anarchy within the country,” Goyal wrote on X on Sunday.

Goyal said that since the Congress Party and its allies could not remove the Modi government through the democratic process, the party is now plotting to destabilise the government by hatching conspiracies. “They harbour so much hatred for India that they can’t even bear to see anything good happening to the nation. Defaming the country, insulting constitutional institutions, and going abroad to appeal to foreign powers to interfere in India’s internal affairs—this reveals what the Congress’s true intentions are?” Goyal added.
