A shocking case has come to light from Patna, where a 14-year-old Hindu girl who had been missing from Patna’s Gardanibagh area for the past three days was found unconscious inside an auto-rickshaw on Saturday morning, 4th July. The girl was kidnapped and raped by the Muslim rickshaw driver, Mohammad Shamshad Alam.
She was spotted by her family near the Planetarium on Vidyapati Road. The family immediately chased the auto and caught Shamshad Alam, the driver, near the Mandiri drain and handed him to the police. After that, the family was rushed to New Gardiner Hospital for the girl’s treatment, where the Doctors said her condition is very critical now.
According to the family, the teenager had left home three days ago to buy some groceries but didn’t return. After searching for her, the family filed a missing persons complaint at Gardanibagh Police Station on 4th July.
Family says girl was kept in an auto for three days
The police have arrested the accused Mohammad Shamshad Alam, a native of Vaishali who was living in a rented house in Gardanibagh. During the interrogation, he told police that he is married and has an eight-month-old daughter.
Since his wife was staying at home, he claimed he kept the minor inside his auto-rickshaw instead of taking her there.
The girl’s family said Shamshad drove her around Patna in his auto-rickshaw for three days. They said he works as an auto driver and is also associated with Rapido and Ola.
Shamshad Alam hides his real identity by using pictures of Hindu deities
The girl’s uncle said Shamshad is already married and uses pictures of Hindu deities, including Shiva and Parvati, as his WhatsApp display picture to hide his identity and gain the trust of Hindu girls.
The family also said they had no idea that the accused, who lived in the same locality on rent, could be involved in such an incident.
Police are collecting evidence
Secretariat DSP Dr Anu Kumari said the crime scene has been secured and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been called to collect evidence. She said further legal action will be taken after the victim’s statement, medical examination and other evidence are examined.
Police said the accused’s wife also belongs to another community. The investigation is continuing, and officials said that strict action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
