A disturbing incident from Guwahati’s Khanapara area has triggered outrage after videos surfaced on social media showing a woman being stripped and assaulted by bouncers inside a nightclub late Thursday night.
The incident took place at ‘The Locals’ cafe and lounge. Videos circulating online show a woman lying on the floor without clothes as two women appear to kick her. Several men can also be seen around her. In another clip, a woman appears to try to lift the victim before a car moves into the frame, obscuring the scene.

According to reports, the woman was dragged and assaulted after a confrontation inside the nightclub. She was taken from the establishment’s fourth floor towards the parking area, with both male and female bouncers allegedly involved in the incident. One purported video appears to show a bouncer kicking the woman.
What exactly triggered the confrontation remains unclear.
The videos circulating online capture only fragments of the incident and do not establish what happened before the assault. Social media claims that the women involved were fighting or were under the influence of drugs have also surfaced, but these claims have not been independently verified.
That, however, does not explain away the disturbing visuals.
If the videos are authentic and accurately depict what occurred at the nightclub, the alleged stripping and assault of a woman raises serious questions about the conduct of the people involved and the responsibility of the establishment’s security personnel.
The incident has also raised questions about what happened inside the club before the woman was brought downstairs. Was there CCTV footage covering the entire sequence? Who intervened?
