All injured persons were immediately taken to nearby hospitals for initial treatment. Police have confirmed that none of the injured is in critical condition.
According to SSP Mathura Shlok Kumar, the reason for the poor visibility was the result of dense fog. He stated that “around 4:30 am, about seven buses and three small vehicles collided because they could not see what was ahead.
Rescue operations are still underway, the SSP said, adding that the expressway was completely blocked following the accident and traffic has since been diverted from behind. He further stated that the debris has been cleared, and government vehicles are being deployed to transport stranded passengers to their destinations.
