AAP leader Sanjay Singh claims illegal detention of party worker, Delhi Police say he was misbehaving with voters, forcing to come to AAP table

As elections for the Delhi Assembly Constituency are taking place today, the Delhi police detained an Aam Aadmi Party worker for forcing people to come to the table of the Aam Aadmi Party.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh took to X to complain about the detention of an AAP worker named Uday at Mandi Marg police station. Singh also posted a picture of himself sitting inside the police station. “Our worker named Uday has been detained at the Mandir Marg police station without any reason. I am present at the police station,” wrote Singh.

Responding to Singh’s allegation, a comment was posted from the official handle of the DCP New Delhi clarifying the reason for detaining the worker. “He is detained as he was physically forcing people to come on particular political party table along with his accomplice”, the post read.

In another post on X, AAP leader Sanjay Singh alleged that the table of his party was removed at the Tughlaq Lane polling booth. Countering the allegation, DCP New Delhi wrote on X that the table had a party symbol which violated the Election Commission rules.
