In Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a man missing for 45 days has been found dead, buried inside his own home. The police have arrested the wife.
As per reports, police recovered the decomposed body of 44-year-old Surendra Kumar Sharma, buried beneath freshly laid tiles in his own bathroom, after he had been missing for 45 days.
Surendra Sharma went missing on May 18. His wife, Ruby, had filed a missing persons report on May 26 and informed relatives that he would return soon. However, during the police investigation, officials noted inconsistencies in her statements. On July 3, acting on suspicions, police launched a search of her house in Agra’s Dahatora area.
During the search, they found newly plastered tiles in the bathroom and, acting on an alert from Surendra’s brother, Anil Sharma, they ordered the floor to be dug up. Surendra Sharma’s decomposed skeleton was found underneath the bathroom.
Ruby was arrested after an interrogation. She has reportedly confessed to the crime. Sharma’s drinking habit and marital disputes between the couple is said to be the reason behind the murder. Police is also searching for accomplices who might have helped Ruby to kill or hide her husband’s body.
