Bhopal: Asif Raza posed as ‘Ashish Pandey’ to trap Hindu woman; sexually assaulted, threatened for conversion, and pressurised the pregnant victim to abort

A shocking case of love jihad has surfaced from Bhopal, where a Muslim man, posing as hindu, trapped a Hindu girl, and maintained a physical relationship with her for nearly one-and-a-half years. During this period, he repeatedly sexually assaulted her.

According to police, the accused has been identified as Asif Raza, who is said to be originally from Bihar. The victim stated that Asif introduced himself to her as “Ashish Pandey” and gradually built a close relationship. After gaining her trust, he promised to marry her and continued a physical relationship for around 18 months.

The situation took a serious turn when the girl became pregnant. She said the accused then started pressuring her to for abortion. When she refused, he disclosed his real identity as a Muslim and began forcing her to convert to Islam for marriage. The girl has also claimed that he repeatedly threatened her during this period.

She further told police that two of the accused’s friends were also involved, and they mentally harassed her throughout the relationship. The harassment and pressure increased after she refused both the abortion and their demand for religious conversion.

The complaint was first filed about a month ago at the women’s police station. Based on her statement, a case has now been formally registered at Ashoka Garden police station. Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar confirmed that efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the accused and his friends.

Police are also preparing to send a team to Bihar to search for the accused, who is currently absconding. The investigation is ongoing as officials try to gather more details and ensure action against everyone involved in the crime.
