BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht, who won from the Mustafabad assembly constituency in the Delhi assembly elections, has declared that the name of his constituency will be changed to either Shivpuri or Shiv Vihar.
“Yes, I promised to change the name of my constituency to either Shivpuri or Shiv Vihar. I fail to understand why other political parties are favouring the name Mustafabad,” said Bisht.

Bisht defeated the AAP candidate Ahmad Khan by more than 17000 votes in the constituency which has around 45 percent Muslim population as per official data. He was earlier an MLA from Karawal Nagar constituency. In this election, he was asked by the BJP to contest from the Mustafabad constituency.
He was initially unsure of winning given the demography of the area but he managed to win the seat by a considerable margin. “I was sad when my seat was changed but I returned to this seat after 17 years. I was asked to contest from Mustafabad but the organisation was worried that there might be a game of 19-20 from Mustafabad but I was sure that we would win. I was sad that why seat was changed because my people were there and I was continuously working there after winning the election,” Bisht said.
Notably, anti-Hindu riots accused Tahir Hussain also contested from Mustafabad and managed to get 33,474 votes but finished in the third place.
