A low-intensity blast occurred outside the Punjab BJP office in Sector 37, Chandigarh, on Wednesday evening, 1 April 2026.
The explosion took place at approximately 5:57 pm in the parking area near the office, reportedly involving a scooter parked outside. The blast was heard from a distance, causing panic in the vicinity, though no injuries or casualties were reported and the BJP office itself sustained no damage.
Initial reports described it as a bomb blast, but one account suggested a possible battery explosion in the scooter, pending official confirmation. Forensic teams, along with bomb and dog squads, were deployed to the site, and police have sealed the area while examining CCTV footage.
