On Tuesday, December 31, Cricket Australia announced its best Test team for the year 2024, and has named Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah as the Captain of that side. Bumrah, who is currently having a sensational Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, has had a great year with the ball.
Apart from Bumrah, youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal is the other Indian to make it to the XI. England’s Ben Duckett joins Jaiswal as the opener in the side. Followed by Joe Root, Rachin Ravindra and Harry Brook in the middle order.
Sri Lankan Kamindu Mendis, who has hit 5 centuries this year, comes in at 6 with Australian Alex Carey as Wicket Keeper at 7. Apart from Bumrah, Kiwi Matt Henry, Australian Josh Hazlewood, and South African Keshav Maharaj make up the bowling attack.
