The Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi government has issued a notice to former CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in an enquiry on alleged bribery offers by BJP to AAP MLAs. This comes after Kejriwal claimed that BJP is offering ₹15 crore each to 16 AAP MLAs to switch parties.
The LG has ordered a probe into the allegations after the BJP lodged a complaint. Accordingly, an ACB visited Kejriwal’s residence in this regard, and issued a notice seeking details on the allegation. The ACB asks whether the tweet making the allegations was posted by Kejriwal himself or not.
The ACB has sought the details of 16 AAP MLAs who were allegedly contacted by the BJP for poaching. The notice also asks Kejriwal to provide details like phone numbers, names of persons who allegedly made the offers to the AAP MLAs. Further, ACB has sought evidence and proof to support the claim/allegations of the offer of bribe levelled by Kejriwal and his party members on various media/social media platforms.
It further adds, “Explain as to why an appropriate legal action should not be taken against the persons spreading such information on media/social media platforms which is tantamount to create panic and unrest situation amongst the people of Delhi.”
Notably, voting for Delhi elections for already taken place and the results will be declared on 8 February. At present, nobody who will become MLAs in the new house. But AAP claims that BJP is already trying to poach its MLAs, who may or may not win the elections.
Arvind Kejriwal posted a tweet on X yesterday claiming that 16 of AAP candidates received calls that if they leave AAP and join BJP, they will make them ministers and will give Rs. 15 crores to each of them. Kejriwal asked if BJP is getting 55 seats as predicted by some exit polls, what is the need for poaching AAP MLAs, adding that this means that the exit polls are fake.

‘Obviously these fake surveys have been conducted with the sole purpose of creating this atmosphere to poach some candidates. But you abusive people, not even one of our men will leave us,’ he posted.
