ED summons BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on January 7 in Formula E race case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summons to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President and former Telangana minister K T Rama Rao to appear before it on January 7. The summons have been issued in the Formula E race case where allegedly Rs 45 Crores were given to a foreign entity to get the race to Hyderabad.

It is part of the ongoing ED investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) based on the FIR filed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with alleged irregularities in bringing the Formula-E car racing event to Hyderabad in February 2023. KT Rama Rao is the primary accused in the FIR.

KT Rama Rao, the son of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekha Rao, is a former Cabinet Minister of the Telugu state and is the current Working President of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi party.
