‘Jihadi Jack’, who served in the US army, attempts to join Hezbollah to kill Jews

On Thursday (2nd January), a former US Army official was indicted by a federal grand jury for attempting to join the Islamic terror outfit Hezbollah with the intention of killing Jews.

According to reports, the accused was identified as 24-year-old Jack Danaher Molloy. He had travelled to Syria and Lebanon in 2024 to join Hezbollah. Jack had attempted to join the terror outfit multiple times.

He lives in Pennsylvania and has dual US and Irish citizenship. Jack had previously served on active duty in the US Army.

According to the Department of Justice (DoJ), he converted to Islam in 2024. Following his conversion, he tried to join Hezbollah through contacts in Lebanon.

Jack travelled to Syria in October 2024 with the intention of joining forces with the Islamic terror outfit. He also provided false information to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents at the Pittsburgh International Airport.

Thereafter, he made several attempts to reach out to Hezbollah. According to DoJ, Jack has promoted hatred and violence against Jews through social media. If convicted, he will face a maximum of 28 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
